Reusing old jewelry: give your gold a second life
Do you have jewelry lying around that you no longer wear, but has fond memories attached to it? Then consider reusing or remelting old gold.
This way you not only give your jewelry a new life, but also choose a personal and sustainable alternative.
Why reuse old jewelry?
Recycling old gold is more popular than ever. Not only because it is sustainable,
but also because it preserves the emotional value of your jewelry.
Consider:
- A family member’s wedding ring,
- An heirloom that no longer suits you,
- Or broken jewelry that is too valuable to throw away.
Having old gold melted down into a new design preserves the symbolism and creates a piece of jewelry that suits you again.
How does remelting old gold work?
At Nooba Jewelry, I personally work with you through the entire process. That way you can be sure that the result will fit you and the story behind your gold.
1. Handing in old gold
You can bring or send your old jewelry to me.
I look at the quality and content of the gold and tell you what is technically possible.
2. Custom design
We’ll discuss your wishes. Do you want a ring, pendant or earrings?
I design a piece of jewelry to match the amount of gold and your style.
3. Melting and making
The gold is melted down and handcrafted into a new piece of jewelry that you will enjoy wearing again.
A second life for your jewelry
A new piece of jewelry made from old gold is not only durable, but also a way to give new meaning to something precious. This way you carry memories in a way that is appropriate for now.
