Why my collection doesn’t move with trends
The world seems to be spinning faster and faster. Trends come and go and even in the world of jewelry, styles alternate at a rapid pace. Although I follow it all, simply because I find it interesting, my own collection does not move with the trends.
I make my jewelry myself, in my studio in Eindhoven, and only add something when I think: this is what I would like to wear myself. So no quick collections or seasonal work, but beautiful, durable jewelry that will last a long time and stay beautiful.
Designs made with attention
Each piece begins at my workbench. I work with durable materials, fine settings, and attention to detail. Everything must be technically correct and remain beautiful, even when worn daily.
My own style is quite calm. Think simple shapes and subdued colors. And sometimes an extra detail that gives the jewelry something special.
Made to wear
I don’t make jewelry to keep in a box. Because jewelry is not only for special occasions, but also for every day. So everything I design should be comfortable and be able to age beautifully.
That’s why I pay attention to wearing comfort and sturdiness. But also how a ring moves with your hand, or how a pendant falls on your neck.
Craft over haste
Sometimes, of course, it may happen that a design happens to be in fashion. But that’s not what I do it for. I work at my own pace, without hurry, and everything is made by hand.
What I make is meant to last. So no trend work, but jewelry that is not only beautiful for now, but also for later and for years to come.
